Fabrication of a Cold Rolled Steel Enclosure for the Electrical Industry

Cold Rolled Steel Enclosure

G & M Metal Fabricators were contracted by a customer in the electrical industry to fabricate a custom enclosure used to house circuit breaker switches. The enclosure shown here was constructed from cold rolled steel, and utilized processes including cutting, punching, forming, and threading, as well as our certified welding services. Secondary processes include the grinding and polishing of welds, and unit assembly. The enclosure was also subjected to a protective powder coat finish. We were able to meet the customer's request for a completely waterproof unit, as well as grounded and welded doors.

Finished dimensions for this electric switch enclosure were 43" long x 13" wide x 64" high. Tight tolerances of ±.015" were maintained throughout manufacturing. Visual and dimensional inspections were applied during construction to maintain quality and accuracy. We constructed 15 units for this project, after a lead-time of 6 weeks.
